Helio P60 VS Kirin 710: MediaTek is a big player when it comes to mid-range and low-end processor. It’s a segment the company is fully focused on since they couldn’t succeed in the high-end market for now at least. One of their best mid-range chipsets is the MediaTek Helio P60. The chipset powers most budget mid-range smartphone. One of the Helio P60 rivals in the mid-range market is the Kirin 710 chipset from Huawei.
Both chipsets have their differences and similarities. One thing they have in common is that they’re built on a 12nm manufacturing process technology. We’ll be looking at the key areas of a chipset and figure out which of these two is a much better chipset.
Helio P60 vs Kirin 710 – The CPU
The MediaTek Helio P60 features four Cortex-A73 cores, which clocks at 2.2GHz and another four Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.7GHz. While the HiSilicon Kirin 710 packs four Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores, both clocked at 2.0GHz. Whereas, as I said in the introduction, both chipsets are built on 12nm process technology.
Helio P60 vs Kirin 710 – The GPU
Both chipsets have different graphics processing unit. The Helio P60 chip features the ARM Mali-G72 MP3 graphics processing unit. While the Kirin 710 comes with the ARM Mali-G51 MP4 graphics processing unit. However, the Kirin 710 chipset will offer good graphics performance due to the addition of the GPU Turbo technology. The technology is a smartphone gaming revolution from Huawei.
The MediaTek Helio P60 supports up to a 32 MP single camera or a dual camera configuration of 16 MP and 24 MP. According to MediaTek, the Helio P60 uses tri-core ISP for better efficiency in its camera. While the Kirin 710 supports a dual camera configuration of 16 MP and 2 MP.
In the Geekbench 4.1 test, the Kirin 710 scores 5,521 on multi-core and 1,557 on single-core. While the Helio P60 scores 5,821 on multi-core and 1,514 on single-core. With most smartphone users addicted to playing games on their device, it’s better to check out the gaming performance of these chipsets.
According to AnTuTu GPU performance test, the Helio P60 scores 29,744 points. While the Kirin 710 scores 21,853. Despite the Helio P60 being an older chipset, it still manages to have a better GPU than the Kirin 710.
The MediaTek Helio P60 is a better overall chipset than the Kirin 710. You’ll be better off using a smartphone that’s powered by MediaTek Helio P60, especially if you love playing games on your device.
