Huawei P30 Pro VS Huawei P30 VS P30 Lite – The latest flagship in the Huawei P-series is finally upon us. The Huawei P30 comes with two siblings just like we saw with the P20 last year. Accompanying the P30 is the P30 Pro and the P30 Lite. Like their names suggest, the Huawei P30 Pro is the pro version of the P30. While the P30 Lite is the lite version of the P30. We decided to put all three smartphones and make a comparison of their specs and features.
Huawei P30 Pro VS Huawei P30 VS P30 Lite – Design
The design of the P30 series is almost the same and identical. Though the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro look more similar together than their younger sibling. The P30 Pro features an edge-to-edge display with just tiny bezels at the top and bottom. While on the P30 and P30 Lite you can easily see tiny bezel on the side. The Huawei P30 Lite fingerprint sensor is mounted at the back. While the other two features an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The P30 Pro is the heaviest among the trio, weighing 192 grams. Whereas the Huawei P30 weighs 165 grams. While the P30 Lite weighs 159 grams. The battery plays a significant role in their weight and also their thickness. The Huawei P30 Pro measures 8.4 mm in thickness. The P30 measures 7.6 mm thick. And the P30 Lite measures 7.4 mm thick. For water resistant certification, the Huawei P30 Pro has IP68 water and dust resistance rating. While the P30 makes do with IP53 dust and splash resistance rating. The Huawei P30 Lite being the least important doesn’t have any certification.
The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are available in the same body colour options; Amber Sunrise, Aurora, Breathing Crystal, Black and Pearl White. While the Huawei P30 Lite has the Pearl White body colour along with Peacock Blue and Midnight Black.
Huawei P30 Pro VS Huawei P30 VS P30 Lite – Display
The display is different for all three smartphones in terms of size. The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro feature the same OLED display technology. The display size of the P30 Pro is bigger measuring 6.47 inches. While the P30 display size measures 6.1 inches. The Huawei P30 Lite features a slightly bigger display size than the P30 but the technology isn’t the same. The Huawei P30 Lite display measures 6.15 with an IPS LCD display panel.
The P30 Lite sports display resolution of 1080 x 2312 pixels with 415 PPI density. For the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, they feature the same display resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. But different PPI density; 398 PPI density for P30 Pro and 422 PPI density for P30.
What all three Huawei smartphone have in common based on camera is the 32 MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The Huawei P30 Pro comes with a quad rear camera setup; 40 MP + 20 MP + 8 MP + ToF 3D camera. While the Huawei P30 features the same 40 MP main sensor with 16 MP and 8 MP sensors to make up its triple rear camera setup. The P30 Lite also features triple rear camera setup but with different sensors; 24 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP. The P30 Lite can’t shoot 4K videos. While the other two can shoot 4K videos at 30 frames per second.
Under the hood of the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro is the same Kirin 980 SoC with Mali-G76 MP10 graphics processing unit and 6GB/8GB RAM. It’s the Huawei P30 Lite that comes with different hardware of Kirin 710 SoC with Mali-G51 MP4 GPU and only a 6 GB RAM variant.
Software is the same on all trio of the P30 series; Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.1 overlaid on it. Though, the Huawei P30 Lite will run differently from the P30 and P30 Pro cause of the hardware. You’ll still get all Google and Huawei pre-installed apps on all three devices.
Only the Huawei P30 Pro supports wireless charging and even reverse wireless charging. The P30 Pro comes with a 4000 mAh battery with a 40W fast battery charger. While the Huawei P30 comes with 3650 mAh battery with a 22.5W fast battery charger. And the P30 Lite comes with 3340 mAh battery with an 18W fast battery charger.
Huawei made sure no matter the size of your pocket, there is a P30 version ready for you. $900+ will get the Huawei P30 Pro which is the biggest of the trio. $600+ gets you the standard Huawei P30. While $300+ gets you the Huawei P30 Lite. These are all reasonable pricing and we can’t really complain much about it.
