Redmi Note 7 Pro VS Redmi Note 7 – The Redmi Sub-brand is now official from Xiaomi. And to kick-start their journey, the Sub-brand have released their flagship; the Redmi Note 7. This flagship comes with a bigger variant called Redmi Note 7 Pro.
Redmi Note 7 Pro VS Redmi Note 7 – Design
The Redmi Note 7 Pro and Note 7 comes with the same design, which is typical for most smartphones and its bigger variant. Both are solid build device with gorilla glass version 5 at the front and back. They have a polycarbonate frame. Underneath the back glass is a gradient design. The front features a waterdrop notch and bottom chin. While the back is a fingerprint scanner, dual camera and LED flash.
They both have the same weight of 186 grams and measures the same 8.1 mm in thickness. Their body colours, however, are different. The Redmi Note 7 comes with three options of Blue, Black and Twilight Gold. While the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with three options of Nebula Red, Neptune Blue and Space Black.
Redmi Note 7 Pro VS Redmi Note 7 – Display
There is no difference in display features of both smartphones. They both sport a 6.3 inches IPS LCD panel with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Their display features 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution with 409 PPI density. And you get the gorilla glass 5 protecting the display.
The camera features are mostly the same on both Redmi phones. They both pack a dual camera system which features a 48 MP + 5 MP sensors. The only main difference is the camera of the Redmi Note 7 Pro can record 4k resolution videos at 30fps. While the camera of the Redmi Note 7 can’t. The selfie camera on both phones features a 13 MP sensor.
The hardware is kind of the main difference between both smartphones. They are powered by two different chipsets. Powering the Redmi Note 7 Pro is the Snapdragon 675 chipset. Whereas, the Snapdragon 660 chipset powers the Redmi Note 7. The 675 chipset uses Kryo 460 cores. While the 660 chipset uses Kryo 260 cores.
For graphics, the 675 chipset features Adreno 612 GPU. While the 660 chipset comes with Adreno 512 GPU. Overall, the performance of the Note 7 Pro will be better than the Note 7. Their memory variants are also different. The Redmi Note 7 is available in three memory variants; 3/32GB, 4/64GB & 6/64GB. While the Note 7 Pro doesn’t have the 3 GB RAM variant, instead it’s available in only a 4/64GB and 6/128GB variants.
The software is the same on both Redmi phones. You’ll get an MIUI 10 skin that runs on top of Android 9.0 Pie. The user interface is very responsive on both smartphones and you shouldn’t have any problem navigating.
No difference in battery capacity. They both packs a non-removable Li-Po 4,000 mAh battery and supports 4.0 Quick Charge.
The 4GB/64GB memory variant on the Note 7 Pro goes for about $208. While that same memory variant on the Note 7 cost about $169. The difference in price is based on the Note 7 Pro having a more powerful chipset than the Note 7. As long as you don’t playing heavy games on your smartphone, you are better off with the cheaper Note 7.
