  • A pop-up question reading “Turn on Secret Conversation?”. Click on “Turn On”, and you’re ready to go. Your chat is now using end-to-end encryption.

Unlike WhatsApp that comes with pre-installed end-to-end encryption on all chats and messages. The downside about this encryption is that you need to turn it on for every conversation you want encryption to work. Once you’ve turned on a secret conversation, it can’t be turned off. You’ll need to delete that conversation and then start a new one. The Secret Conversation feature is not available for group messages. But we do believe Facebook is working towards it.
