The Infinix Smart 2 Pro has been introduced silently into the market by Infinix. The smartphone together standard variant, Infinix Smart 2 popped up on a Pakistan online store Daraz. Infinix Mobility also made the announcement on their official Facebook page. Both phones succeed last year’s Infinix Smart, which was also released quietly. The Smart-series being a budget-friendly series doesn’t get enough hype and buzz like other Infinix series such as the Note series and the Hot series.
The Infinix Smart 2 Pro features a dual rear camera, fingerprint sensor and face unlock system. Considering it’s a budget smartphone, this is some really good features. It also supports 4G LTE connectivity, which Infinix are referring to as Smart 4G LTE. How smart can it’s 4G LTE be? Or rather how smart can be Infinix Smart 2 Probe? Let’s go into the full details as we figure that out.
Infinix Smart 2 Pro Design
The Infinix Smart 2 Pro looks exactly like it’s a younger sibling, the Infinix Smart 2. It features a metal-like plastic unibody with front glass. The dual rear camera is aligned in a vertical direction at the top left corner with its LED flash below it. The fingerprint sensor sits at the top centre with a circular shape. Below the sensor, is the Infinix brand name.
At the bottom, is the Smart brand name and beside it, is a loudspeaker for quality sound when listening to music. Just like the Smart 2, the Infinix Smart 2 Pro weighs 148 grams and measures 8.4 mm thick. It’s also available in four body colours; Rose Gold, Black, Blue and Red.
Infinix Smart 2 Pro Display
The first Smart device, which was released last year has a 16:9 aspect ratio. So the Smart 2 and Smart 2 Pro becomes the first phones under the Smart-series with an 18:9 aspect ratio display. You get to enjoy movies, music videos and games in full view. The Smart 2 Pro features a 5.5 inches HD+ touchscreen, 720 x 1440 pixels resolution and 282 pixels per inch density. The display specs are exactly the same on the Smart 2.
Infinix Smart 2 Pro Camera
The camera is one of the highlights of the Smart 2 Pro. Thanks to its dual 13MP + 2MP rear camera, the Infinix Smart 2 Pro is able to take perfect portrait and bokeh effect pictures. For taking selfies, the Smart 2 Pro is armed with an 8MP selfie camera and a dual-tone flash. The 8MP selfie camera handles the Face ID system, which is the same as on the Smart 2.
Infinix Smart 2 Pro Hardware
Running things underneath the Infinix Smart 2 Pro is MediaTek MT6739 chipset with PowerVR GE8100 graphics unit handling the graphics. The chipset is accompanied by 4-cores processor clocking at a maximum speed of 1.5GHz. It comes with a 3 GB memory and 32 internal storage, which is bigger than the 2 GB memory and 16 GB storage featured on the Smart 2.
Infinix Smart 2 Pro Software
The Infinix Smart 2 Pro runs on XOS 3.3 hummingbird skin, which is overlaid on Android 8.1 Oreo.
Infinix Smart 2 Pro Battery
I was expecting the Smart 2 Pro to feature a better battery life than the Smart 2. But that wasn’t the case, as the Smart 2 Pro packs a non-removable Li-on 3050 mAh battery capacity like the Smart 2. There’s no fast battery charging support on the Smart 2 Pro, so charging might potentially be frustrating.
Infinix Smart 2 Pro Price
The price of the Smart 2 Pro is about $110. I think the price isn’t bad for the quality of this smartphone.
