The LG G8 ThinQ is among the smartphones released by LG at the Mobile World Congress 2019. The smartphone focuses more on camera and software upgrades. The flagship device comes with the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset, a premium display and great camera specs. Let’s take a look at the LG G8 ThinQ.
LG G8 ThinQ Design
The LG G8 ThinQ features a similar design with its predecessor, LG G7 ThinQ. LG did not focus much on the design of this smartphone. It does still come out looking good though. The LG G8 ThinQ comes with an aluminium frame in-between the front and backs Corning gorilla glass. At the back is a well-rounded fingerprint sensor at the top centre. And above it is a vertically arranged triple camera setup.
LG decides to stick with the rectangular top notch while most OEMs have moved to teardrop notch or punch-hole camera. The LG G8 ThinQ weighs 167 grams and measures 8.4 mm thick. It comes with MIL-STD-810G compliant test rating and IP68 water/dust resistance. Body colours available for the LG G8 ThinQ are Carmine Red, New Aurora Black and New Moroccan Blue.

The G8 ThinQ features an AMOLED FullVision display. The display measures 6.1 inches with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 83.5% screen-to-body ratio. The display on the G8 ThinQ is bright and sharp with a resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels and 564 PPI density. Protecting the display is Corning gorilla glass 5. The display features Always-on display, 100% DCI-P3, Dolby Vision and HDR 10.

LG offers this flagship in two camera variants. We have the dual rear camera model and the triple rear camera model. Both models are market dependent depending on region and carriers. The dual rear camera model features a 16 MP wide sensor with f/1.9 aperture and a 12 MP standard sensor with f/1.5 aperture. While the triple rear camera model adds a third 12 MP telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Camera features include bokeh for video, spotlight mode, OIS and HDR.
