The Motorola Moto G7 Play is the most affordable of the four G7 series released by Motorola. The other three are Moto G7 Power, Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus. Being the most affordable smartphone doesn’t the Moto G7 Play comes with scrappy features. For starters, the Moto G7 Play is probably the only phone in its price range that’s powered by Snapdragon 632 chipset. Let that sink in while you get ready for the full review lol.

Motorola Moto G7 Play Design

The Moto G7 Play features a plastic unibody which has a textured finish to it. The front glass is Corning gorilla glass albeit the 3rd generation. The phone is splash resistant just like its older siblings. And features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Moto G7 Play measure a slim 8.1 mm thick and weighs just 149 grams. It’s the slimmest and lightest of the G7 series. It comes in Deep Indigo, Fine Gold and Starry Black body colours.

Motorola Moto G7 Play Display

The notch on the Moto G7 Play is quite long. The display is a 5.7 inches IPS LCD touchscreen with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The display resolution is 720 x 1512 pixels with 294 PPI density. The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protecting the display is market dependent.

The single-camera system of the Moto G7 Plays sports a 13 MP lens. The lens features f/2.0 aperture, 1.12µm pixel size and PDAF. Motorola made sure the camera on all the Moto G7 series can record 4K resolution videos. The notch of the Moto G7 Play houses an 8 MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Running underneath the Moto G7 Play is a very impressive Snapdragon 632 chipset with eight cores of Kryo processor. For graphics, the Moto G7 Play packs Adreno 506 GPU. This hardware makes the Moto G7 Play one of the best budget-friendly smartphones in its price range. It comes with a 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage.
