The Oppo Reno 5G is the latest 5G enabled smartphone to be announced this 2019. Oppo has joined other OEM companies in releasing a 5G variant of their flagship. Just like we saw Samsung do with the Samsung Galaxy S10, where they release the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G. The Oppo Reno 5G is the 5G variant of Oppo’s latest flagship; Oppo Reno 10x Zoom. Let’s take a look at this beauty 🙂
Oppo Reno 5G Design
Oppo is keeping true to their all-screen strategy as they did with last year’s Oppo Find X. The Oppo Reno 5G front is dominated largely by its display. Turning over to the back is the triple rear camera lined up in a vertical direction at the middle. Both front and back are made up of Corning Gorilla Glass and sandwiched with an aluminium frame. The selfie camera of this Reno phone uses a pop-up mechanism different from what we saw on the Oppo F11 Pro.
One of the thing not to like about the Reno 5G device is the weight and thickness. The device weighs a staggering 215 grams and measures 9.3 mm in thickness. This could be as a result of its large battery capacity. Just like the standard Oppo Reno smartphone, this 5G version is available in two body colours of Ocean Green and Jet Black.

The camera uses AI to achieve the 10x zoom by combining all three sensors.
The pop-up selfie camera featured here is what Oppo calls a “shark fin” pop-up. The camera pops out in a scissors-like manner from the right and goes back in when not in use. Oppo assures fans the mechanism can go open and close for 200,000 times without developing any fault.
