The Redmi 7 is the latest cost-effective smartphone from Xiaomi’s sub-brand company – Redmi. The device is more of a stripped version of the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro released by the company earlier on. And will go against the likes of Samsung Galaxy M10, Realme 3, Redmi Y3 and even the Redmi Note 7 in terms of market competition.
Redmi 7 Design
Over the years, Xiaomi barely focuses on the design of its budget smartphones. But that seems to have changed in 2019. The Redmi 7 features a similar design as seen on the Redmi Note 7, which is a gradient body design with curved edges. The device features the trending waterdrop notch and an all-plastic unibody. There is a splash resistant certification just like on the Redmi Y3.
The Redmi 7 weighs 180 grams with measurement of 8.5 mm in thickness. This is the same weight and thickness you will get on the Redmi Y3. Like every other Xiaomi budget phones, it features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Body colour options available are Lunar Red, Eclipse Black and Comet Blue.

Redmi 7 Display
The display of the Redmi 7 features a 6.26 inches IPS LCD panel with an 81.5% screen-to-body ratio. The resolution is 720 x 1520 pixels with 269 pixels per inch density. It comes with a 19:9 aspect ratio and the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects the display. For a smartphone of this price range, you can’t really complain about this display.

Unlike the Redmi Y3, the Redmi 7 is not a camera focused smartphone. The camera is however decent enough for regular use. The rear camera of the Redmi 7 consist of a dual setup, which features a 12 MP and 2 MP sensors. At the front, is an 8 MP selfie snapper with f/2.0 aperture.
