The Redmi Y3 is an affordable smartphone for selfie lovers with its 32 MP front camera. And it’s set to compete with smartphones like the Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7 and Realme 3 in the mid-range/budget market.

2019 seems to be the year for gradient design even for the mid-rangers. The Redmi Y3 features an eye-catching gradient design, which Xiaomi calls the Aura Smoke. There are curved edges for better grip of the phone and a teardrop notch.
The phone measures 158.7 x 75.6 x 8.5 mm in dimensions and weighs 180 grams. This smartphone also features P2i-rated water and dust resistance, which is truly amazing for a device at this price range. I think to be the highlight of the Redmi Y3 display is the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protecting it. The display features a size of 6.26 inches with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and 269 PPI density. The display type is IPS LCD panel and features 19:9 aspect ratio. There is a TUV certified reading mode, which helps protect the eyes.

Powering this device is the Snapdragon 632 SoC built on a 14nm manufacturing process technology. For day-to-day use and normal tasks this chipset isn’t bad and can even run most regular mobile games. High-end games like PUBG can also be played on this device albeit on low settings. The Redmi Y3 is offered in two memory variants – 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage. The Redmi Y3 has good numbers in Benchmark test; on AnTuTu it scored 101496 while on the Geekbench, it scored 1248 in single core and 4314 in the multi-core.
