The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G welcomes you to the world of 5G network. This is the first 5G smartphone and I must say it’s a bold move by Samsung. They are calling it the “HyerFast revolutionary smartphone”. Only time will tell how fast the 5G network will be.

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Design

The Galaxy S10 5G sports a version 6 of Corning gorilla glass at the front and back with shiny gradient colours. The frame is built with aluminium and measures 7.9 mm in thickness. The smartphone comes with a weight of 198 grams and as usual, an IP68 certified waterproof resistant.

Rear mounted fingerprint sensor is gradually phasing out now as the Galaxy S10 5G features an in-display fingerprint sensor. The Galaxy S10 5G is only available in Prism White body colour. So it’s either that or nothing in terms of colour choice.

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Display

Everything about this smartphone is the next level. The display we have here is a Dynamo AMOLED ‘infinity display’ touchscreen which measures a huge 6.7 inches. This makes the Galaxy S10 5G, the biggest smartphone in Samsung arsenal. The display features an 89.4% screen-to-body ratio, 1440 x 3040 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio and 502 PPI density.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G features a total of six cameras. Damn! Too many cameras on smartphones these days. At the rear, we have a quad (four) camera aligned in a vertical direction at the top centre. The quad consists of a primary 12 MP wide sensor with dual f/1.5-2.4 apertures, 1.4µm pixel size, Dual Pixel PDAF and OIS – a secondary 12 MP telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size, AF, OIS and 2x optical zoom – a 16 MP ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture – then a TOF (Time of Flight) camera.

At the selfie, the side is a dual camera setup consisting of a TOF camera and a 10 MP wide sensor with f/1.9 aperture, Dual Pixel and PDAF. The selfie dual camera features dual video call and Auto-HDR. It also supports 4K resolution video recording at 30fps.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset for USA/LATAM and Chinese markets. The EMEA market gets the Exynos 9820 chipset-powered Galaxy S10 5G.

This smartphone comes in only one memory variant of 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. MicroSD slot is not available for this smartphone, which is rather surprising.

Software

The new Android 9.0 Pie runs on the Galaxy S10 5G. And on top, the OS is Samsung’s newest user interface called “One UI”. Features like ANT+, Bixby virtual assistant and Samsung DeX are available on the device.
