The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G is Xiaomi’s first 5G smartphone which was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2019. They join the likes of Samsung in releasing 5G enabled smartphones. The 5G era is really here to stay guys, even though most network providers in many countries don’t offer 5G. Let’s take a look at the Mi Mix 3 5G.

The Mi Mix 3 5G features a slider mechanism which brings out the selfie camera and other sensors. The back is made up of ceramic while the front is glass. In-between these two is the aluminium (7000 series) frame. The back of the phone features a fingerprint sensor at top centre. And a dual camera with LED flash at the top left.

The Mi Mix 3 5G measures a bulky 9.4 mm thickness. This could be as a result of the slider mechanism. The flagship smartphone is available in two beautiful body colours; Sapphire Blue and Onyx Black.

The Mi Mix 3 5G houses a 6.39 Super AMOLED touchscreen with an 85% screen-to-body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display sports a 1080 x 2340 pixels, 403 PPI density and gorilla glass 5 for protection.

The main camera system of Mi Mix 3 5G features two cameras. The primary 12 MP wide sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 12 MP telephoto sensor. This camera system will record 4K resolution videos at both 30 & 60 frames per second. The Mi Mix 3 5G features a dual selfie slider camera. Once slid, you’ll be greeted with a 24 MP main sensor and a 2 MP depth sensor.

The Mi Mix 3 5G comes with upgraded hardware. The Mi Mix 3 which was released around December 2018 features Snapdragon 845 chipset. While this 5G version comes with a better Snapdragon 855 chipset. The Mi Mix 3 5G is available in two memory options of 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage.
